Summer is underway here and it's not raining so much like it did last year. The raspberries are producing well, daylilies are blooming, and the main colors are provided by monarda, mallow and lady bells. Lilies are also blooming.

Date: 2019-07-10 02:18 am (UTC)Quantifying them is difficult. Last year was very rainy and I didn't rein in the stools of raspberry as I meant to. Later in the month I'll be clipping out everything that fruited and then I'll see how I'm situated for next year. I've got many feet of raspberry run though. This year there have been plenty of the thimble/thumb sized ones. Rabbits like to shelter under them during the winter, and that fertilizes them very well with pellets.
Oddly, my neighbor has some purchased red raspberry plants and they just aren't the sort of producers mine are. They are better behaved (I don't use a whip and chair on mine...) and they are fewer plants.
