Summer is underway here and it's not raining so much like it did last year. The raspberries are producing well, daylilies are blooming, and the main colors are provided by monarda, mallow and lady bells. Lilies are also blooming.

The last week we've had afternoon thunderstorms which are needed for our soils are pretty much Sand. It's perfect weather for Rain Lilies(Zephranthes and Habreanthus species). They're hardy here in z8 but I like them in pots so I can place them where they can be seen when they bloom....which usually is about 4 days after a thunderstorm.

I'm loving the daily raspberries and wild strawberries on my cereal at the moment. So tasty! The strawberries never go red but the flavour is exquisite.

Nice! Fresh raspberries are always great!

How many raspberry canes/plants do you have? Is there a particular breed that works well in your climate?
