Photos: House Yard and South Lot
Mar. 24th, 2024 11:57 pmI took some pictures around the yard today. These are from the house yard and the south lot.
This is the forest garden.

The first flower has opened on the bluebells. They normally bloom around May Day so this is more than a month early.

The hosta is sprouting between two jugs covering bleeding hearts.

Garlic chives are growing in the septic garden. The leaves are good in stir-fries.

This is the purple and white garden.

Blue grape hyacinth is blooming in the purple and white garden.

Peonies are sprouting pink in the purple and white garden.

The south lot is turning green.

Violets are blooming on the south side of the house. These are blue and white ones.

This is gold currant. It's at the west edge of the forest yard, facing the road.

Date: 2024-03-26 03:42 pm (UTC)We have 2 species of Violet here in my yard; the local Purple and White's that hitch-hiked in the plants I brought with me from NW Florida. Gave up this yr trying Sweet Violets....none lived more than a couple months.
Cheers,
Pat

I have multiple colors of grape hyacinths blooming now, so much fun to see.
