A pink waterlily from my pond.
The back garden. Lots and lots and oh yeah, lots of cucumbers. I recently discovered that the squirrels have also chewed all the squash blossoms off the one squash plant I have that was doing well. (*#$&(#! squirrels. >:(
My pond, surrounded by cucumbers. The biggest marginal plants in the pond are irises, pickeral weed and cardinal flower. There are usually a few leopard frogs hanging out among the stems.
I have no idea what this grassy plant is. It started growing back here this spring and so far has been well-behaved. I like it so I'm leaving it for now. Would love to know what it is though.
These guys show up pretty regularly to drink water out of the tubs on the deck. Anyone know what they are?
Front garden. The cucumbers are using the grapes as a trellis as it grows up the side of the porch.
Giant coneflowers, or so said the tag. I thought they were the same plant I loved at the US Botanic Garden, but looking at my pictures from there, I think they're something else. Still neat though. The sad dead twig there is my elderberry bush that suffered greatly when our summer temperatures finally kicked in this summer. It's still alive and I'm hoping it comes back.
Pitcher plants from my mini-bog.
My proper bog. It's under the downspout which helps with the runoff. So far the sundews and venus fly trap have flowered and I'm getting baby sundews coming up. Most of the plants are Sarrencia sp. pitchers, but there are also cranberries, bog violets and other random bog plants in there.
