Does anyone have a really good bonsai book to recommend? I'm looking for a comprehensive guide geared to a rank beginner that will take me from starting a new tree through continued care and shaping of a mature tree with tips for both outdoor and indoor types.

Backstory: We had a large, full, beautiful Japanese Maple in our yard. It died a couple of years ago, but left tiny seedlings in the lawn. I dug up as many of the healthy ones I could find and potted them up. They are now going through their second winter in pots. I figure it would be cool to try bonsai techniques on at least two of them.

I had a couple in the 70's but can't think of any titles offhand. There's probably a few good tutorials on YouTube or Google the subject. Being the 70's and living at the time in a small town not near anything the only tools I had to use was copper wire and cuticle scissors;>
Cheers,
Pat
