Tilling Time

Yesterday looked like a good day to do some garden work; we’ve had intermittent rains and even a few flakes of snow, and temps still drop below freezing some nights, but it was in the 40’s (°F), sunny, windy, but quite fair on Saturday. After raking up some leaves, I pulled the rototiller out of the shed, checked fluids and did a bit of maintenance, and turned in the cereal rye cover crop I had planted last Autumn.



When my soil test results come I’ll pick up the suggested amendments and then till them in. I will start seeds today using the ‘baggies’ method. It feels so good to get outside and do garden work again!

Nice! I turned the compost today, and pulled the old maple leaves of the lilies of the valley. It was so great to be outside.

We had a wonderful weekend for outside work :o) It helps forget what’s going on around us.
