The Late Spring Garden....

Lots of + and -'s this yr. A long cool Spring made for great Spring blossoms but was interupted by unseasonable highs which "fried" most of them. No Asian Pears survived but looks like a fair number of Persimmons did. The big producer is the 'Soo' Jujubee which is it's 1st yr and covered with little green "olives". The Salvias are doing well, though 'Black & Blue' is looking a little sickly. Both gregii hybrids are going blockbusters. The Lilies are just budding though the Lankonese Lily has already started. Definitely needs dividing!
The Black Bamboo's definitely going to need potting up. It's tooooooo Invasive to plant in a garden unless you have a couple acres;>! The test of growing Hostas in pots worked well with 'Patriot' and 'Guacamole'. 'Sum & Substance' didn't make it...
Cheers,
Pat
