Yesterday was mostly cloudy with a few sunbeams breaking through, so I took some pictures in the yard.
These hollow logs serve as planters.

Blue grape hyacinths are blooming in front of them.

Cornelian cherry dogwood is blooming in the forest yard.

This is the white garden.

White daffodils are blooming around the edge.

White hyacinths are budding near the middle.

Peonies are well up in the wagonwheel garden. I love their bright pink color.

This is the inner windbreak in the savanna.

Last year's pawpaw seedling is leaving out.

Here is the wildflower garden.

Pink flowers are blooming.

Same kind, but these are blue.

I don't know what this is, but it smells herbal.

The tiny plant in the center of this picture smells a lot like oregano, but the leaves don't look like oregano. Something in the mint family, I think.

This pile of bark serves as a ladybug hotel.

Daffodils are starting to bloom in the prairie garden.

Wild strawberries are coming up.

Black raspberries are leafing out. These are likely landrace plants. My grandparents had a patch of wild ones, so that's where the first ones came from. I have planted domesticated black raspberries, but had little luck with them; however, they may have contributed pollen. Birds have also helpfully planted raspberries of unknown origin. Whatever grows and fruits is welcome.

This bird's nest is in the midwinter grove.

Tulips are well up.

Daffodils continue to bloom in their bed.

The septic garden is greening up.

Blue grape hyacinths are blooming here.

What looks like bluish grass is actually wild chives.

Lilacs have leaflets and flower buds.

These violets are blooming in pale lavender. The deep purple or purple-and-white ones are much more common, but we have a few lavender ones.

Daffodils are blooming under the big maple tree.

This one has an orange trumpet.
