For the 1st time since "93" we had a Frost after the Maples started to break Dormancy. Thankfully, it really didn't do any damage that earlier(and seasonal ones;>) did. Did pretty much make any Loquats few and far between this yr.
The Daffs are coming up and the 1st of the 'Ice Follies" bloomed...just in time for a little Frost damage. Otherwise it looks good. The Pruning of all Woody plants except the 'Ugli" Mandarin have been completed. The only reason it didn't is that it decided to break Dormancy. Thankfully the Frost spot skipped it.
The garden is bittersweet this yr because we most likely will be Moving this yr or early next. When I Moved out to the Florida Panhandle with my Partner in "001" we did so because I was Retired and my brother was working. This left us unable to not only relocate on our own but placed us reliant on the family. The folks are gone and my brother's wife is long OVER Florida so when they move, we will. One of the big problems I've found as an older Gardener is that you think of your garden as home and leaving it will be sad. Not to mention all the placed mentioned for relocation are too cold for z8 plants;>......
Cheers,
Pat
