Intro Post

With spring coming soon, I figured it was high time to start preparing for growing season to start, and ended up here. Anyway, info!

I live in Canada, in roughly zone 8 or 9. Last year I had a few potted herbs (basil, cilantro, thyme) and some broccoli growing, but this year I want to expand with a few more herbs (mint, sage, oregano) and vegetables (peas, beans, lettuce, radishes). I also want to transplant last year's thyme plants to a bigger container to get it away from the mint my mom put next to it. I'll have to keep watch to make sure the mint doesn't try to overrun the thyme post transplant via any roots, but we'll see what happens.

Definitely a different z8, since I'm z8 and live on the Florida Panhandle;>! I've got some Perennials and Japanese Eggplants started under lights but have been planting seeds of hardy Annuals since the 2nd of Feb. The Gold Nasturtium I had in a basket in the Crapemyrtle tree last yr self seeded and some of them are already Blooming...and the ones I've Planted this yr haven't even germinated;>.
Fertilized the Daffs and the Citrus trees but are waiting till the other fruit trees begin breaking Dormancy to Fertilize them.
Had a lovely surprise today while I was Pruning away the Winter killed/damaged; a spray of a primary hybrid(hybrid between two species) of Winter-blooming Sages. Anything Winter Blooming is hit-r-miss around here. If you're lucky(like last yr) you might get a couple of weeks or even a month of Bloom out of them before Jack Frost wacks them. A single branch had been sheltered by my Persimmon tree and a small spray(as opposed to last yr's 1-2ft sprays)of Jewel-toned Garnet was found. It's now in a place where it'll be seen ....
Good Rains and Winds this Summer...
Cheers,
Pat
