It’s on!
I completed the electric fence around the garden over the weekend. I have some photos here, on my google account. Last to be done were the gates.

(Click to enlarge) This should keep the woodchucks from climbing in this direction.
It is amazing how overgrown and tangled the garden has become! I attribute this to having followed soil test recommendations, and to my ignorance when it comes to maintaining my plants:
- I did not thin any seedlings
- I did not prune back my tomatoes
But we’ve gotten lots of squash, green beans, cherry tomatoes, bell and hot peppers, and tonight enjoyed fresh eggplant parmigiana! We have many pumpkins and gourds coming along, and the sunflowers are all in bloom. The asparagus continues to send up slender shoots as well. Cukes were a failure, especially after gnawing critters got to them.
We’re already planning next year’s garden and keeping notes on what did and did not work this year, and last.

One came out when he heard me, and I finally saw another peeking out at me.
Talk about full-time rodent control!
