gchick: WW2 Poster: Your Victory Garden Counts More than Ever (garden)

Come to the garden party

Hi all, and welcome!

I created this community because I love dirt, and I have some old friends here who are fantastic gardeners, and some others that I've only lately found out are gardeners, because I never found the kind of garden comm that I'd feel at home in -- why not make one here?

I'd also like to encourage (but not require) intro posts: tell us what you're growing this season, how you're set up, what your triumphs and failures and total mystery sprouts are. OpenID users are welcome to do so in comments to this post, and I'll periodically post an open comment thread to allow new followers or OpenIDers to join in.

Any gardening topic is legit here, but do be sane and civil about it: just to pick an example, I'm very open to talk about the pros or cons of eggplant, but I'd rather avoid any personal flames at eggplant-lovers. Or haters. As it were.

That's because you're a pervy eggplant-lover. We know what your kind is like....;)

I'm not really here yet, but then I also don't have a garden yet. :) We bought a house on Monday, so Saturday I'll be carting over the pots that have been sitting on our apartment's balcony (with last year's dead tomatoes and peppers still in them) over and setting them in the yard. I might still be going with a container garden for this year, but for next year, I have big plans.
